Cahokia Mounds State Park

went here whne I was in 2nd grade. I didn’t like it. I don’t remember why. the bus ride was like 4 hours long though. I hated that.

every year since pre-school! damn! still amazes me. One of the best times I have been there has been at this special equinox or certain sunrise of the year at like 6am. It was freezing—but. worth it.

It’s quite remarkable, you get that feeling that you’re very in touch with the past when you stand on the mounds. If you’re ever near, I recommend seeing it.

I love this place and go everytime I get the chance. It’s so peaceful. Lovely.

of the ancient Mississippi Valley /Woodland peoples. You can also see wildlife, e.g. waterfowl in abundance.
