Black Cat

and man o man … what a great show.

ive got nuthin but love for the cat…
they book great acts… they run a good club.. acoustics are good.. the staff is great…what else could a girl who loves live music ask for…

i saw Camera Obscura here, on the mainstage. i hadn’t been there before, but i think it’s a really good space – it has the respectability of a dive, but the sound (at least upstairs) is still quality, and there’s the Red Room downstairs so when you get kicked out of the show, you have someplace to go. smart design: i like it.

saw Prefuse there and Why?, its a pretty nice venue…

I went to see The Alphabetical Order here at the Backstage. Nice, small, cozy space. The walls shake when musicians play.

check out the Red Room bar at the Black Cat, where many of DC’s finest pierced, tattooed, thrift-shoppin’, chuck-n-Docs rockin’ kids hang out and drink. good times.

My favorite venue in DC. it’s where all the indie, up and coming bands play. It’s very cosy too.

The only time I’ve been here was for a concert that was rather underwhelming, so I’m pretty sure that my muted enthusiasm for the Black Cat has more to do with the concert than the venue itself, which is a local favorite for local and national acts.
