I agree with the poster who said that there’s not much to do here. It’s an okay town for families, but dreadfully boring for teenagers and college-aged kids.

The last time I was there the bars closed at 3 a.m. which seems ridiculously late to me and seems that it might promote crime (I know I just made myself sound like a complete square, but so be it).

That said, there are far, far worse places to live. If you get offered a job in the area, give it a try. But if you’re just looking for a place to spend some vacation time? Keep on driving.

This area is a nice rest stop to venues south of here…the zoo is nice…and there are a few nice restaurants…but do not EVER live here…there is nothing to do, nowhere (decent) to work, and not near enough for little kids to do. There are areas of town certain people should NOT venture into haphazardly and there are many places here that will leave you at best wondering what all the buzz was about. I really hate to sound so ugh about it, but I lived near Nashville for three years and for as much as our big wigs like to put on, this place has no culture, no real lifestyle, no…anything. It’s a place for people who grew up here to visit family and spots…but for travelers, stretch your legs at the zoo, grab a bite to eat at Copelands, and get on with the rest of your trip. You’ll be happier once you do.

Ok, so the fishing & hunting is great here…and the camping is ok if you can stand the 100% humidity & mosquitos…but I don’t hunt and fishing & camping don’t happen too often for me.

I grew up here and go back at least once a year to visit. The best times to go is anytime other than summer. I prefer the spring or fall. :)

I still have family and friends in the area and would consider living there again but only part of the year.

Can anyone guess where this picture was taken? If you grew up here you might be able to figure it out. :)

Most all of my family lives here, And what a great state to live in. Hunting, fishing and antyhing that involves outdoors you can dream up. I love this place.
