Lake Michigan

My parents took us kids to some dunes area in the Southern part of Michigan many a summer weekend.

this place has a better lake michigan than we have in Milwaukee

I fell in. In January! Still a great site, perhaps for boating moreso than swimming, intentional or otherwise.

i enjoyed visiting lake michigan a few ocassions. too cold for my tastes though.

Ok, I will say that it was worth it to go see it, as it is an awesome big lake, and a very pretty view. However, swimming in it was not a big thrill for me! It was COLD, COLD, COLD! LOL. I swear I turned blue before the water got up to my knees. (and that’s about as much as I could handle!) There are some very pretty beaches in the Chicago area, though, and I had fun just sitting on the beach watching all the other crazy people swimming in that freezing water!

One of my favorite memories of road trips with my family was the year we drove around Lake Michigan. It was a GREAT trip and there’s so much to see!

I try to see a little of the lake everyday. It is a wonderous thing, and nice to have a little of a horizon line, even when in the depths of the city.

It’s like a big valve, or sorts, for the city pressures, and city’s pressures…

Actually, the reason I want to visit Lake Michigan isn’t because of the nice langdscape or the clean water. Not even to visit the United States (which is quite some way from home for me). No, I’d like to visit Lake Michigan because in one of my favourite book series – Everworld by Katherine Applegate – something very important happens there.
So, it would have to be North-Chicago and I’d be happy to see this place, even if everything that “happened” there is completely fictional.
