The Lobster Shack

When I asked around about where to take an out of town visitor for lobster in the Portland area the resounding answer was the Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth. The drive out is gorgeous – you go past the entrance to Two Lights State Park and at the end of the road you have arrived. The sea is the backdrop and you dine at picnic tables on lobster & french fries and chowder and cole slaw. It is reasonably priced and charming like you wouldn’t believe possible. Waves crashing on the rocks below you, rosa ragusa perfuming the air and the sun shining down means that even the idiot tourists at the next table who think it is “cute” to feed the seagulls don’t bother you too much!
