Muskegon
Not worth visiting!
A review of this place: As someone who lives here, I have to say: It sucks.
Seriously. It’s a dead town. There’s nothing to do here. The only thing we have are the Muskegon Fury, a Hockey team. And I hate Hockey, so I couldn’t care less of them. It’s boring and dreary, and dull.
The beach isn’t all that great when you consider how polluted the water is. And, it’s only swimmable for a few months out of the year, and that’s if you like cold water. You have wait until the end of summer to for the water to warm up enough to really go swimming, and even then, you have to deal with dead fish and pee floating around in the water. There are some bonitas at the beach, but there are equal ammounts of old fat ladies sunning their folds and rolls. The beaches around my house have pebbles and fish bones buried shallowly in the sands, so you’ll cut up your feet if you’re not careful. You could visit the Silversides Submarine exhibit once. But only once. It’s not interesting enough to visit more than that.
We also have the Muskegon Air Fair which is an exhibition at our little pissant airport of military aircraft, which is cool if you can contend with all the stupid rednecks and their inbred children yokeling it up with their shirts off if you’re into that sort of thing.
As far as nightlife goes, there are a few seedy bars to waste time at. But if you resort to having to drink to have fun, you fail at life. Some bars do have local bands playing a few nights a week, which is pretty cool. But that’s really the only reason to go.
If you live in Muskegon, you have to go out of town to have fun. Everything is in Grand Rapids. If you live out of town, go there, and spare yourself the misery that is Muskegon.

A tip I have about this place
The sand is so fine and powdery on the beach, the normal westerly winds pile it up in the yards on the lakeshore homes.
They have to shovel it out, like snow in the winter.
City work crews plow and brush the beachside roads constantly to keep the buildup down.

Great place to grow up, but I haven’t lived there for 8 years. I really love it in the summer
