some nice alpine architecture and overpriced souveneers. We saw where the passion play was held (they are building a retractable roof) It was neat.

Oberammergau is mostly good for shopping, but all the same, it’s a lovely little town in the Alps. If you wander off the beaten path, you might be able to talk to local farmers about their newborn sheep or find secret hideaways to view the amazing scenery. Don’t let the run-down train station turn you off – it really is a rather nice place.

We got some delicious bakery rolls here… YUMMY!

The town is quite well off due to the passion play that happens every five years. They have an amazing swimming complex where you can swim outside and look at the snow capped moutains in the distance, bliss.
