Worth visiting!
I was born here ...
It’s a love/hate thing. It’s home, but I don’t think I’ll ever live there again …

A review of this place
So despite the extremely horrible, torn-up roads on the way down, the whole trip to and from Gillette was great. Note about the one-finger wave:(for those of you who don’t know a lot of farmers, the one-finger wave is waving at EVERY person that passes you with the index finger of the hand you have on the steering wheel) Doing this in Gillette will get you very funny looks and the occassional stare. Apparently they’ve never been out of town before.

i was riding the greyhound to montana, and had some half beers from colorado and wanted to sleep, so while i was waiting for the bus, i decided to drink them. i figured as long as i was not drinking ON the bus, no problem. WRONG. the station manager came out to tell me the bus was leaving, caught me, and wouldn’t let me on. i had to wait 12 hours till the next bus left, so i hiked into town. i found some hitch hikers hanging out in some over growth between a highway next to an overpass. we played some cards, listened to some music, and then bought whiskey and drank in an abandoned construction site for several hours. later on we hung out under the overpass. the city cops couldn’t do anything because the interstate was state property, and the sherrifs wouldn’t be bothered with us. when we finally stepped foot off the over pass, the cops ordered us to disperse and we drunkenly obliged. exactly 12 hours from when i left the bus station, i was back, way more drunk than the half beers had made me, and en route to billings montana, where i passed out and missed the bus to great falls, enabling me to wait 20 more hours and have a very enlightening and fun conversation with the security guard there. this was only the first of many times being stranded in the billings bus station.
