    Zoka  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Some of the best coffee in Seattle is served at Zoka in Tangletown. Their baristas routinely win national barista competitions. The only problem is that although the coffee tastes really good, it’s not as potent as it could be, unless you want to add about 6 shots to it. Also, they removed their largest size cup from the menu, so you can’t get a big ol’ honking mocha anymore, just a medium-sized one. But it’s still a good place to hang out on a Sunday, especially if it’s sunny and you can sit in their outside area and play with the dogs.

Yummy IPA  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

This evening I went to meet my friend Monica for happy hour, but she was busy at work for a little while longer, and since I don’t like Zoka, and I do like beer, I went to wait for her at Tangletown-the Elysian restaurant/bar in Greenlake. The bar was pretty full, but I was able to grab the last empty stool, and I got a pint of a pretty nice IPA. They also keep all the magnets behind the bar for the other beer they’ve had on tap and one was the Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA, my favorite hometown beer.
Anyway, all in all a fine place, even if the guy sitting next to me at the bar was wearing an upside-down, and backwards visor! What’s up with that anyway?!
