Learn some Italian!

I almost didn’t go to Herculaneum, but so glad I did. Pompey shows the scale of a roman city very well. But herculaneum better shows the riches and you get a better feel of what it must have looked like. Very much worth visiting.

I agree with igadabout on all three counts. If you have to choose between going to Herculaneum and Pompeii, I’d recommend Herculaneum !

I never would’ve been able to get some of the photo ops I had at Herculaneum at Pompeii ! :sneaky:

…I had just arrived from Pompeii and I must admit, I prefer Herculaneum for two reasons. 1) It’s not as crowded as Pompeii and 2) The ruins are much better preserved. Oh, there’s a third reason, you can get much closer to the ruins as well – giving you a better look.

Go to both, but I’m betting you’ll prefer Herculaneum as well!

The tour we took went for a half day to Pompeii and half to Herculaneum. Our whole group, after the tour, agreed that we would all have liked to have spent the entire day at Herculaneum.
