party party all day long

it was many years ago. it was election time & tension was in the air. the place is beautiful but way too many germans & americans have taken over-thus the name everyone calls it- “gringotenango”!

it was a frighteneing time to be in guatemala but i still can appreciate the culture & beauty of this place. two north american women were murdered by the lake in broad daylight while we were there & locals told us to watch out for kidnapping & to not trust the military/police as they are corrupt. we didn’t stay long!

i had travelled through guatemala before that & had a peaceful interesting experience, so you just never know.

my brother and i hitchhiked to this city, it was a bit scary, but really lots of fun. You over look the city going down into it, and it’s a view of a lifetime, and then lots of steep roads to either bus back up or hike (like we did)
