Worth visiting!
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous…. but don’t believe the hike to Lopez Mendes beach is “easy” – I’m a bit out of shape and it took a lot longer than most people told us. However, we did see a family of 15 monkeys along the trail. They came right up to the tree along the trail and after about 5 minutes we were only feet away from them. We watched (and took photos) of them for 20 minutes… They were so amazing and soooo small and cute.

Worth visiting!
I live there some time and I hope return for live every day in this tropical wonderfull island named Ilha Grande. I Visit 3 times a year and I help to many people to get there, for this reason 3 years ago I create www.ilhagrande.com.ar the travel guide about Ilha Grande in my basically english and spanish.
Visit the site, specially the FAQ section, if have some doubt write me for the contact form, with pleasure I answer all the questions. So many beaches to see... avoid BIG RIO! — 2 years ago
Worth visiting!
If you have such beauty at your feet at these place, avoid the Big stuff.
Get a bot from Angra dos Reis and go camp in Aventureiros, which is on the other side of the island, then wake up really early and get abot to see the rest of the tiny island around.
At night get yourself a beer and enjoy he music, the locals and the mosquitos!

Worth visiting!
You can get to the island from Angra dos Reis or other town (about 2hrs trip). A very little town in Bahia do Abrao: after spending one day looking for a place to drink or looking for souvenirs you will know almost everyone in the town. No vehicles are allowed in the island, except a patrol car, an ambulance and the truck which collects the trash.
I went there to dive around the islands. It was excellent.
