A nice little city with an active nightlife and great views if you find the right place. The people aren’t that bad, generally very friendly and open. A nice place for shopping and eating. One of the nicer parts of Maryland. Don’t sleep on the train tracks, though, trains do still use them.

nice enough by Colton Cummings

Main Street Ellicott City is quaint, and has an interesting enough heritage. It’s home to some cool shops along Main Street, some great old architecture, and some other worthwhile locations.

Those points aside, the place is largely the liberal version of Catonsville. I’d describe many of the inhabitants of Main Street and the surrounding area as a peculiar breed of snob to whom anyone living more than a mile or two away is branded “tourist.”

Of course, for every strange oxymoron of an extremely-liberal-yet-narrowminded local, there’s a genuinely nice person, and the place as a whole is pleasant.

for a year from summer of 1964 to summer of 1965. Went to Rockland Elementary. Nice place. Had lots of friends that I wish I had kept in contact with.
