Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Detroit is a beautiful place. It’s hard to see on the surface at times but there are special places all around. This hotel looks like crap but it’s cozy and nice. Detroit looks rough around the edges but it’s got a lot of soul and the most wonderful people you could ever imagine.

When you ride in the elevator and know it inspired a White Stripes song, you just smile and wonder what else you can find around this town to inspire creativity.

this is the same one as mentioned in the song.

According to http://www.songfacts.com/detail.lasso?id=2942

“The Hotel Yorba is a real hotel. It is located in a run-down section of Detroit on Lafayette Boulevard, near a bus station. Jack White grew up in Detroit and heard rumors about the hotel when he was growing up.”

In other words, this is the Hotel Yorba mentioned in the White Stripes song.

This shouldn't be in fictional places...

...because the Hotel Yorba actually exists! The song was written there.

edit: I just added the “real” Hotel Yorba to the Detroit section of 43places: http://www.43places.com/places/view/252536

1, 2, 3, 4, take the elevator

All they got inside is vacancy.
