SPAC

SPAC is an amazing outdoor concert venue built into one of the NY’s best state parks. This provides for a great area to hang out before shows and downtown Saratoga is right down the road for a very solid night out afterward.

Home of my first ever rock concert! .38 Special with Night Ranger opening - ah, 1984 and 13-year-old me. ;) But more often I saw performances by the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York City Ballet, who did their summer residencies at SPAC. Our family would stock up on chicken or similar picnic dishes, sit out on the lawn and enjoy the music as the sun set and the whole area was plunged into darkness except for the light on the stage. I would look up into the sky at stunning stars, laying back on the lawn as the music played. Good times, and I hope they are still like that for many kids there today.
