Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 3 months ago

    Worth visiting!

Spent a relaxing couple of days here and tried snorkelling for the first time. Unfortunately the sea was a little bit too choppy for a beginner like me plus I was terrified of accidentally treading on one of the stingrays swimming around, so I was soon back in the boat.

One of the days we were in Caye Caulker we took a boat out to an area where you can swim with eagle rays and nurse sharks. Although scary, it was an adrenaline rush I will never forget!

If you venture tothis amazing island, look for an adorable skinny black dog. Her name is lady and she is sweet. Please feed her for me!!!!

My girlfriend and I ran into the author of the “Let’s Go” guidebook for Belize. He introduced us to a snorkelling guide who refused to be listed in the guidebooks. The guide took us to the reef on his sailboat and we snorkelled with nurse sharks.

    Unbelizable . . . Caye Caulker  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

This is a fantastic destination. It is only a 30 minute water taxi from Belize City. Caye (pronounced key) Caulker is small, but very relaxing. Go to the split and have a drink at Lazy Lizard’s, swim, or play volleyball in the water. We stayed at Popeye’s which is nice, affordable, and has one of the best managers I’ve seen, Manuel.
    You must . . .
get a coconut cookie from Rasta Pasta
snorkel or scuba (preferable all day on the sailboat with Raggamuffin tours)
have a cuba libre (make sure it is with 1 barrel)
sit in the swings at the I & I bar
hang out and do nothing . . . you are probably on vacation!

I guana go back!  — 2 years ago

Hey, I was just in Belize a few days ago. We stayed on Caye Caulker for three days and we could have stayed all week! The island is small and everyone ends up being your friend. I recommend staying at Popeyes and also sailing with Raggamuffin Tours. Also the I&I bar is a must as well as snorkling or scuba diving. The water is so gorgeous! I will be back!

We went to Caye Caulker for a cruise excursion. Our group snorkled with stingrays and sharks. This picture shows several stingrays.
