A quaint little town with nice ocean views. But if you plan on returning to the urban side of San Mateo County past 6 p.m., don’t count on the bus being there to pick you up.

Never again will I live somewhere without living there. Even if I’m the billionth man in India or the dirtiest bum in Chiba. When I sat on the beach today it was as if I’d touched the sand for the first time, the Hero Generation landing at Normandy – I know my porch at Casa Penn better, know Whole Foods better, know each shop and each buildlinglette of 5th Avenue Hillcrest better than I know my own Montara Beach.
