Arrived in town.. went to a local store and asked the cashier where the place to hang out was. she told us she usually plays pool at the belmont which happened to also be a strip club. We were then given the worst directions I have ever received in my life. For someone who lives there, explaining how to go 3 blocks was way too difficult. So we made it most of the way there and then stopped for some taquitos at 711. We found the belmont and it was a typical dive (which i love) we had about 6 pitchers of honey brown, then after one stripper did her thing (and wouldnt accept tips) we decided it was time to leave. The pool tables were decent. after that we headed down to a neat little place by the cruise terminal. and had a few more pitchers of beer. made it back to the boat on time. Good clean canadian fun.

maybe just personal, but i just didn’t like the place. it could be the fact that i was stuck there after driving all the way up through b.c. to get on the ferry to go up to ak, but its sooo little and there seemed to be nothing there worth traveling up to see.

I lived in Rupert for 8 years
its a beautiful city, the people are kind, the atmosphere is relaxed. The fishing and the scenery is breathtaking.
Visit and have lots of fun!

My grandmother lived in Prince Rupert in the early 1900’s. I have 2 of her old photo albums from that period that I am so curious about. I’d love to go to Prince Rupert to do family research, kind of match up her photos and figure out what’s what from them.

People go there just for the halibut! (hah!)
Sorry, bad joke. A recommendation, though: stop in at Cow Bay Cafe, have lunch or dinner, watch the fishermen (if you’re lucky, they’ll be peeing off the boats in full view of the restaurant), and tell Adrienne hello….
