The most wonderful place I've been to in my life!
I didn’t expect to be so moved by this place. As we were going in, the bells rung, and there was a prayer said for the soldiers in foreign lands. I was nearly in tears. The stained glass is lovely, as is the architecture and the history of the place.

The first time I went to this place
The first time I went to the Minster, I was amazed because I had never been to a Gothic Cathedral, or to England. Everything I saw in York pretty much amazed me.

One of the world's most beautiful cathedrals
It’s one of my favourites, and wins my prize for sheer prettiness. A lovely building in an amazing city. If you can manage it, try and attend an Evensong service. The boys choir brought tears to my eyes.

Great Spot!
One of my favorite spots on my trip around the UK. I got some great photo’s of the sunsetting on the front of the minster. And the underground tour is very interesting!
Definitely worth it!

Discover the Atmosphere!
York Minster is definitely one of the highlights in the city. It is the largest Gothic church north of the Alps. If possible, don’t miss going to the Undercroft (an extra £3.50). There is an audio tour “The Story of the Minster through the Ages” – a fascinating way to bring to life the past of the Minster.
