I really want to go here to shop. They have some awesome designer stores that I would love to check out!

Not worth it!

There is some interesting architecture in Beverly Hills, but overall I was turned off by the overly extravagant “affluenza” of the whole idea. There are a lot of places like that with residents who have no idea how life is for most others on this planet. Clueless and wasteful. But they give the rest of us some cool cars to look at and huge mansions at which to gawk, I guess.

Worth visiting!

I just thought this was the ooolest place as a teenager. Now, it makes no difference because shopping is not something I enjoy.

A review of this place: Fast living and high prices in Los Angeles  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

I have lived in Los Angeles off and on for a number of years. I tried to get away once and then ended back here and now take up residence in Beverly Hills. I love my neighborhood in Beverly Hills. It’s very safe and pretty. You can walk your dog around here and meet plenty of new and friendly places. If you want anything, chances are you’ll find it here in Los Angeles. Plenty of culture here, lots of places to eat good food and meet people. Plenty of great shopping nearby. I have about three malls all within a five-minute drive. On the downside, it’s gotten so unaffordable to live here. You pay $1500 and up and up and up for a decent one bedroom. In Beverly Hills, a decent two bedroom is around $2,700 and up. And landlords seem to feel they deserve this money and can do nothing to upkeep the building. You have to come up with a huge downpayment to move into one of these places and if you have a pet, expect to pay $500 or more for a deposit. Seems like everyone in this town drives a BMW or a Benz. And there’s a lot of pressure to look good and spend a fortune on clothing, haircuts, and botox. You get sucked into it, believe me. You can make friends easy here, but don’t count on too many of those friends for much. This city attracts a lot of young beautiful dreamy people. Just about every bartender you meet is an actor or screenwriter during the day.

In short, Los Angeles is actually a fun, vibrant, and busy place, but don’t move here unless you have lots and lots of money and two feet planted firmly in reality. If you want to come here to make it big in showbiz, expect to be devoured alive and dumped in the gutter. Also, if you don’t live in one of the nicer neighborhoods, some other places, such as Venice and Korea town are very rough. I personally am looking to relocate somewhere like Austin, Portland, or Seattle, where my money stretches a little further and I can have some hope for owning a home one day.

Why I want to go to this place  — 2 years ago

I want to go to Beverly hills because I know that´s one of the best places to go, like Florida, and Las vegas. In Beverly Hills there are very big houses, I know that because I´ve already been there one, in my uncle´s house, he´s owner of a car enterprise, so he is very rich. Beverly Hills is like a paradise, I wish i lived there for ever.

What I imagine this place to be like  — 2 years ago

L.A. if I were there I would subscribe you as a beautiful “Emerald city” in which the spotlights never off of you. going to fancy resturants seeing the people that you have admired your whole life. doing what you love 24.7 and having fun while your doing it. being with the thing you love the most (the camera) movie permeries and obstacles you have to over come(the press) and hey “thats what up”.L.A. i’ll call you “Emerald City”

A tip I have about this place  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

The things that I dig about Beverly Hills aren’t necessarily what other people like. The expensive shops? eh. But the neighborhood pharmacies and tiny, non-trendy restaurants which have stayed the same for years and years? (No, I am not talking the Peach Pit. Well, maybe. More the kind of places that are like the Peach Pit, only the Peach Pit doesn’t exist.) Those are fun to visit – the neighborhood pharmacy stocks Variety, of course. Additionally, the Museum of Radio and Television here is worth a visit.

Worth visiting!

I currently live in a pretty affluent area (about to move away) but it has nothing on Beverly Hills.

This is a ‘full service’ sort of place.

Valet parking at the mall
Waitered refills where you wouldn’t expect it (Souplantation)
Full service at the gas pump

I have a friend who appreciates full service, I think she’d like it here.
