I remember this place when it was ’Marriott’s Great America’. I came here all the time as a kid. So much fun and such happy memories of my youth!

Living near this place... by ind0lence

It seems that you can grow tired of it. It actually is really fun. The first… say… 30 times you go. Every year we’ve always had a season pass or wow card. It really was funn. and a place I could just hang out with friends at. But now it’s just boring after seeing it so many times. and haveing riden all the rides and all…

But it really is funn. So yeahh. pretty cool place to visit.

Go on a semi-rainy day.. Discount tickets might be nice- they aren’t difficult to get. There’s probably going to be a very short line, if there is a line at all. Just go on Top Gun over and over again. :D

This is one of those qualified "maybe worth visiting" by fuzzball

I’ve been to better amusement parks, which is kind of sad because I used to go to this place all the time during the summer when I was a kid and it was great then.

Alas, the last time I was there (14 years ago admittedly, but I noticed another poster got the same impression) the place was full of punks. Rude gangs of kids (and I was only 20 at the time) very downtrodden feel to it. Kind of like parts of Hayward where you don’t feel like you’re in a bad part of town, but you certainly wouldn’t confuse where you’re at with being a good part of town either ;)

Who knows, maybe the crowds are better now, but before making this a destination trip, I’d do a little more research.
