I went on a 4-day hike in Emigrant Wilderness. We hiked in by Upper Relief Reservoir, down a steep mountain, and dropped into a beautiful meadow dotted with wildflowers. We camped at Upper Wire Lake (gorgeous sunset but lots of mosquitos), Buck Lake, and Long Lake. The hiking can be difficult (lots of steep climbs), but we were rewarded with wonderful views of the mountains, lakes, and meadows. We encountered only a few other people at each lake. In late July, the weather was warm during the day, but quite cold in the evenings. We caught several rainbow trout but were disappointed with the fishing overall—perhaps it was too late in the season. Overall, this is an excellent place to visit!

Whoa... by thedymesfactor

stunning. breathtaking. serene.

This is a great place to unwind. First time I ever backpacked, and I fell in love. There is nothing to hate…okay maybe the bugs. But, with all the gorgeous scenery, you don’t even care.

Get to Kennedy Meadows and go up to the Relief Reservoir. Such a gem of an experience!!
