Laughlin

Laughlin is the best place to go for a relaxing vacation. The townies are friendly and welcoming. The prices are inexpensive. The town is slow moving. The Colorado River is beautiful. There are boat cruises to the Davis Dam, Jet Boat Rides to the London Bridge and you can rent jet skis. There is a nice beach at the Harrah’s which is very pleasant and relaxing. The lifeguards, led by Phil, are extremely competent and entertaining. There are several casinos to gamble and while the gamble isn’t great, they are fun. There are several solid restaurants, but nothing amazing. My favorite restaurant is actually the Chinese Buffet across the river in Bullhead City. The Harrah’s Spa has great prices and is really good. Andrew gives the best massages! If you want to go on a short side trip, the wild donkeys in Oatman, Arizona, are a must see. And if you are there when its HOT, its always fun to go to a movie at the Brenden Theatre in the Avi Casino.

I don’t live in Laughlin and don’t own a business in Laughlin. I just love going there to relax!

it is quiter, cozier, more relaxing. Go to Vegas for the glitz and glam, go to Laughlin for a kicked back vacation!

I go every year! Always for free….Laughlin is the best, you never have to pay to stay….just gamble a bit and they’ll always bring you back for free. Great place to go if you like the river and the heat.

My mother wants to be a professional gambler one day. Because she’s such a great customer of Harrah’s…they gave her a free trip to their casino in Laughlin. I am going along as a babysitter/travel companion. Hopefully she will behave herself and not try to break the bank during our trip. We will be in town May 14-18. Maybe I can find some voiceover jobs out that way. I know I will be having cocktails by the pool, at least. Woo-hoo!

…was my first time. It was kinda “blah” I was with my mom and I must have been the youngest person for about 50 miles around, and mom was the 2nd youngest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice place and being along the river was cool, but it was too laid-back for me. The food was great and cheap, and the outlets across the street were nice, but still it felt like “Vegas for the aged”. I think it’s funny there’s a Harley convention there every year :)

Hotels are really cheap, we stayed for something like $5.99 a night – I kid you not – and we get postcards all the time for free weekends.

Note that we only saw one stop for gas between Barstow and The turnoff to Laughlin (near Needles) – there must have been more but we didn’t see any other gas stations, so fill up at the 1/2 way points.
