I remember meeting some girls and climbing the mountian in the park and walking around the bay and going to the beach and there was a guy that wanted to kill me on the train there and we stayed in an australian hostel and the tapas were the best and the merry go round was cool and i went to some place in the mts. with peacocks, cidre!

Wander, wander wander. Get off of the main drag. This is one city where you canNOT go wrong. Whether you walk into a dirty bar and it turns out to be delicious gourmet food, take a wrong turn up a mountain and hit a man selling coffee in a stone hut, or end up across the river from Casco Viejo and mix it up with the locals, you just can’t go wrong in this most beautiful town.

Oh, and order some Colacao at Bidaluze in one of the Plazas. Comes with Marias and a coating of chocolate…mmmm.

After that, catch the 20-min. bus to Fuentarabia. Trust me.

I feel sort of bad checking this off, as I was asleep the entire time. We were on an 18-hour bus ride (no bathrooms!) from Paris to Madrid. But I was here. Technically.

Absolutely beautiful, maybe the most beautiful place I’ve seen so far in Spain. Fairly close to France, so it has a different feel to it I think.

Just back from San Seb after a ten year gap…ten years ago this place changed my life during a year abroad at Deuesto Business School…went back with one of my best friends. The place has changed only in very subtle ways – more relaxed, more people speaking Spanish, Spanish flags etc. But the rest was so San Seb – frudisk smelt the same and the pinxos as good as ever. Wonder company, wonderful place.
