And yes downtown Waukesha is a little notorious to navigate in that the road to get there is not the same one you can take out of down town waukesha. Other than that , friendly people nice scenic downtown (with a golf course (yes its that quiet)).
They hold open air markets and there are nice quaint stores to shop at down town.

It’s a good location – easy freeway access to Milwaukee in one direction and “Lake Country” in the other. Downtown Waukesha is notoriously difficult to navigate, but it’s easier of you park you car and walk around. It’s not that big, but there are many interesting places to poke around up and down the old cobblestone streets.
