Arboretum

The road through the middle of the arboretum has recently been repaved. It is now real nice and smooth.

and not just them…to any and everyone….
it feels like you are far from the city when you are here and it is SO amazing in spring and fall…go when the cherries are blooming (middle of week, middle of day when most people are at work…otherwise you’ll be getting lots of heads and bodies in your pictures)....just amazing…go over to the UW water rec building and rent a canoe or row boat and explore…take the “bridge” to nowhere (there is a freeway bridge they started to build, but never finished because lots of people hated it…. and you can walk it and jump off it into the water)
i can’t even begin to tell u how amazing this place is..JUST GO!!!!

The arboretum is a lovely area – very shady and green. Check out the Japanese Garden, which is a bit overpriced but beautiful. If you keep driving down to Madison there are some good restaurants like Cafe Flora.

Rent a boat by the UW stadium, and paddle around the Arboretum….Good cheap summer fun
