The first time I went to this place
i have been hankering to go to the Newseum ever since i first heard about it.
i finally went for my first time in December. i thought it was amazing. i’m a mass communications major at the University that i attend, so pretty much everything at the Newseum was intriguing to me. my favorite exhibit was probably the 9/11 one. they have the top of one of the twin towers on display, along with a video that i wasn’t able to see. i loved the newspaper headlines on display from the next day, and the wide range of opinions on this act of terror [there was one that simply had the headline “BASTARDS!”
the Newseum had a mix of interactive exhibits, artifacts, and stories. this integration makes the Newseum an awesome experience overall, and the admission price was definitely worth the experience.

Why I want to go to this place
Actually, my teacher suggested me go to this museum…
she said that when it opens, i should go, because she thinks that it will be extremely interesting for me…i believe her! i was looking on the website, and the exhibits look very interesting.
It opens April 11 [in ten days]...
i’m not sure if i’ll wait until the summer, or go soon.
tickets are free on opening day, but i don’t want to even get started on getting in on that chaotic mess that it will most likely be. regular day tickets are $20, so hopefully i’ll save up and have a blast! :D

work in progress
The Newseum used to be located in Rosslyn, Va., but closed a couple years ago in preparation for the construction of its new location in downtown D.C. The new museum isn’t supposed to open until sometime next year, but in the meantime, it’s fun to check out the Today’s Front Pages display, an exhibit (updated daily) of newspaper front pages from each state and several countries.
