It's not THAT bad. by k8t

I think calling Clarksville ‘backwater’ is unfair. The population is about 100k, far from a small town. Sure, it’s not a bustling city but that doesn’t mean that there’s absolutely nothing to do here. I have found plenty of things to do here, and of the people i’ve met, those who complain about finding nothing to do are the ones who don’t try. Also, Nashville is a short drive away, less than an hour. Perfect for a day trip on the weekend.

Any place is what you make of it. If you try to make the best of it, you will.

Home of the 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell, Kentucky by Jen

I was stationed here for almost two horrible years with the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. This is just one of those backwater places with nothing to do, a string of tacky strip clubs and pawn shops outside a military base – and that’s about it, unfortunately. There used to be a Chinese buffet restaurant outside the base about a mile called Tommy’s that was pretty decent, however.

I’m moving here in October with my cousin. My dream has been to live in TN for a while now and I really feel like there’s a part of me already there. I have a strong feeling that my life will improve dramatically…I’ll lose weight, get out of debt, and fall in love. I live for the local music scene and night life, so I hope I can fit in and become a regular easily. I want to make good friends here, like the ones I already have in VA…People I can trust and have fun with…who enjoy the things I do. It’s just hard to make good friends. I love debaucheries and revelries, so I hope TN has that in store for me.
