Childhood memories by krin

I lived in Ridgefield from 1972 to 1977 during my elementary school years. I went to Farmingville Elementary School. I remember exploring the woods, swimming at Great Pond, and visiting Keeler Tavern and seeing the British cannonball still embedded in the wall from the Battle of Ridgefield in 1775. In 1975, the town re-enacted the Battle for a bicentennial celebration.

in love with Ridgefield by nycoleen

I’ve always absolutely adored Ridgefield. I don’t know what it is about it, but when we would visit my aunt there, I would become incredibly excited and want to see everything there was to see. Needless to say we didn’t get out THAT much since we were spending so much time with family, but I can visit anytime I want. I hope to live there for at least a year of my life. It’s charming, I love the history and simplicity. I can’t wait to visit again, and hopefully live a short while there.
