I visited a friend in Ocean City this past weekend and loved it (my friend does have a house on a beach block on one end of the boardwalk). My blog about it here:

we ran around like retards and screamed our lungs out. and my friend almost stepped on a dead bird. it was so fun. i love oc. =)

I worked in Ocean City this past summer and have seen it all. From the thousands of people on 4th of July to the heavy rainfall in August. It is a very safe town with plenty to do. I highly recommend visiting there. The only thing I do not like is parking. Unless you have money, parking will be very hard to find if you don’t know where to look. Also, cops like to give tickets to everyone, so be careful how you park.

Go when it’s not high season. It won’t be really hot and the boardwalk won’t be so crowded. I loved it! Get an ice cream and stroll the boardwalk, but yourself a t-shirt (or a sweatshirt if it turns a little windy and cool!) and hit the beach! I would love to spend a nice weekend there!

Ocean City is my staple shore point. I’ve been coming here for almost every summer for vacation since I was born, and it just feels so comfortable. It’s a great family town, beach, and boardwalk, and I’d recommend it to anyone!

I had fun on the board walk. The sand is very shelly. I went in the Ocean once while I was there for 5 days. I shopped alot. We stayed in the Tropacana or however its spelled lol. It’s a great Hotel.

it’s worth visiting because everything is worth visiting, and it has the sea. and it is really suited to most americans. but having the mind of a foreigner, and being vegetarian and much more interested in being alone and at peace with the sea, i found myself yearning for somewhere very different. most of the highway is lined with steakhouses and other large corporations that have fought for space at this tourist destination, and nearly every inch of the opposite side is covered with hotels. but a nice experience can come of a visit if it’s done right. there’s a campsite or two along the coastal highway as it’s called. the hotels are very expensive for the services being provided, so taking a tent is preferrable. there’s a lovely italian restaurant along the coastal highway as well, called ‘the olive tree’. it’s a bit pricey, but it’s some surprisingly good pasta. the boardwalk can be nice, in a funfair sort of way. there are some kite shops and sweet shops to duck into, to avoid the snarky t-shirts and cheap junk. overall, a decent experience.

i hate ocean city. i live about twenty minutes away &it’s not exactly as great as everyone says it is. but i guess if you live here, you’re gonna think that. =P
