Jitterbug Cafe

When it was a Chow Foods restaurant I really enjoyed going there for breakfast every few months. The green eggs and ham were terrific. Since the change I’ve been only once and wasn’t impressed. The menu appears much the same but the food didn’t live up to expectations.

After the Chow Foods folks sold off Jitterbug it went downhill fast. The food is so-so, the service is mediocre. We used it eat there several times a month. Now we never go. Sad, really.

I swear I pressed the button by accident

I had breakfast here in late 2003 and was wildly unimpressed. I’d heard people wax rhapsodic about the place, the eclectic menu and the amazing flavors and the service was sometimes so-so but the food more than made up for it, and it’s in such a neat little location so you end up wall-to-wall people and the watching’s as good as the food.

I was there on a slow day and the service sucked, the food was marginal (radically undercooked pain perdu), the coffee just horrible. I haven’t been since, and I know it went through an ownership change recently, so I should probably give it another chance.
