Not a lot going on. by Hate Something, Change Something.

We took a day trip here and found it unexciting to say the very least. The musicians were prety rubbish and the whole place was scruffy. The trip there was fun, but we should have turned straight around.

Livingston, Guatemala by Changobotanico

This is a fascinating and very remote location near Puerto Barrios on the Carribean Coast. To get here you have to go to Puerto Barrios and take a motor boat up the coast (about a 30 minute ride). Upon arrival you will first see the gorgeous Hotel Tucan Dugu. Here Julio Iglesias once made a movie in his youth. The village of Livingston is inhabited chiefly by Garifuna peoples and is a very cozy and hot atmosphere. Great music and drums at times. Hotel Tucan Dugu has beautiful grounds and a great swimming pool – excellent service in this Swiss owned establishment – and LOVELY air-con and nice rooms. The people on this island like coastal village are very friendly and tourism has become extremely important to their survival. I loved it!
