Darling Harbour : Where Marine Meets Martini! by Nannie Starrison

Darling Harbour is the most popular place to celebrate or meeting! lots of festival takes place here all the time and there are some of interesting sightseeing around the harbor. You can even stay from day to night here!

To get here you can use every transport but the easiest is Monorail that you can land in the heart of Darling Harbour. Or ride a ferry from Circular Quey to any Darling Harbour wharf to get there with the beautiful view of Sydney.

Sydney Aquarium was OK. A little tired perhaps. Could do with a face lift. Darling Harbour was pretty amazing. Stayed at the Novotel with stunning views. Monorail is great to get around on. Harbour tour fab. Nicks Seafood restaurant good – but pricey. You must visit the QVB (Queen Victoria Building). Beautiful – great shopping, live music. I’m going back ASAP.

One of my favourite spots in Sydney. by larelle

If you are bored out of your brain (and have lots of money – or conversely, very little money) then Darling Harbour is for you. There are LOADS of things to do. Shopping, sightseeing, the aquarium, iMax, the harbourside, the exhibition centre (normally has something on), Star City (just behind the harbour), the Chinese Garden of Friendship, Powerhouse Museum, etc. I dare you to be bored there!

When it opened up (after a multi-million dollar redevelopment) in 1988 (as a present to the Sydney population for the Bicentennial no doubt) I had been a regular visitor right up until I moved to the UK in 1999. When I DO go back to Sydney, it is one place I always visit along with Sydney Harbour itself.

A ride on the Monorail is a must too!

The aquarium and Chinese garden are great. It’s a nice little piece of the harbour too.
