A beautiful, peaceful isle by faerieoftheglen
If you are looking for excitement, don’t bother. But if you like gorgeous scenery, walking, peace, and friendly local population…then by all means go. The permanent population is only about 100. There are loads of nice walks and some moderate hills to walk up as well as a couple of very nice sandy beaches. A nice garden to visit at Colonsay House. Not a lot of shopping there but there is a cafe, bookshop, tiny market. The hotel/pub/restaurant was closed when we went but I’d imagine when it opens it will be a great place to hang out in the evenings.
Make sure you walk over to Oransay at low tide to visit the abbey.
