    Frites!  — 1 year ago

These are the best Freedom Fries I’ve ever tasted! Lots of dipping sauces to choose from (I particularly like the adobo). And its proximity to the Comet (one of my favorite haunts) makes for many an evening of frites & beer. Yum!

fries!!! if you don’t like them, you suck!
my 3 yr old loves this place….but then fries are a kid’s best friend…we’ll go once and a while and buy the middle size and get some ketchup (good old ketchup…but the have around 20-30 sauces to choose from) and sit and eat to our hearts content and whatever isn’t finished gets taken home for later….
and recently, they add other foods to their menu…i love it that they’re open so late too….if u haven’t had much or anything to eat before you go drinking and partying….go there and grab some to go….
    YUM!!!!

I’ve spent quite a lot of time in and out of Amsterdam & Munich, and the Frites shop on Capitol Hill (10th and Pike) makes the best frites you’re going to find outside Europe.

Like the best European hole-in-the-wall shops, Frites has no sign, runs no ads, has no phone number, is open really late (2:30AM on weekends), and is packed daily by people who have heard about it by word of mouth.

There’s lots of sauces to compliment the frites which are made by the owner—but if you want a truly authentic experience, order the ‘middel’ cone size and ask them to just plop some mayo on top!

Frites and sympathy  — 2 years ago

I’d been here once or twice before but, right after the Dresden Dolls show at Neumo’s in November 2004, I bought two orders for myself and some gals I was waiting with til their rides arrived (sigh, the general underagedness of the Dolls’ fanbase.)

By the time the Dolls themselves stumbled out and partook of the frites, everyone was happy dappy. Hot fries on a cold night after a great show… who’dathunkit.

Worth a 10 block walk in bare feet  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

We left the Baltic Room after hours of dancing with the Belgian Frites place as our destination. After half a block, my friend Cathy’s vintage heels had overstayed their welcome, so she made the trek there and back in bare feet.
Luckily, the Frites and their delicious sauces were worth it!
