Georgetown

Is this the hippest place in Seattle?
We went down last Friday for dinner and beers, and it seems like it just might be the hippest 1-2 blocks in Seattle. After dinner at Smarty Pants, we walked by a fairly crowded 9lb Hammer, and then went down to check out the music at the Jules Mae’s Saloon. This place was packed with people dancing to the rockabilly band playing. It was so great!

I moved to Georgetown a couple of years ago, and I have to say I picked the Seattle neighborhood that is just right for me. Small houses with beautiful gardens wedged into the industrial landscape. Speaking as a former New Yorker, it feels like a little bit of DUMBO mixed with residential parts of Queens. With friendly neighbors, great pizza, coffee and a record store just blocks away, it has everything a girl needs to survive in the city.
