free camping!
Free campgrounds still exist! On the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state you can find nearly half a dozen free campgrounds in the Forks area, most are near the Hoh Rainforest. The only limit is 7 camping nights per 30 day period per group. It is a great deal and only minutes away from the beach and hoh rainforest.

Hoh Rainforest Re-opens After Flooding
Hi! Please note that on May 1st 2007 the Hoh Rainforest in Washington State, USA is re-opening after cleaning up flood damage from Nov and Dec 2006. The last task, after clearing the roads and trails of river debree and logs was restoring power to the park facilities. All is well now. Be sure to drive up the Upper Hoh Rd in the Olympic National Park to see the area in all its green glory. Be sure to stop by the re-opened businesses as well and celebrate with them (hard rain cafe, rainforest paddlers, olivers, and peak 6) For more information on the park, rafting or kayaking tours, etc call 360-374-9288.

Do do the Dew Drop Inn...
We got here the year that this cute modern hotel opened… and you have got to try to the Smokehouse for salmon and their clam chowder… It’s an institution.. We have been to both several times and consider it a great sleepy town…
