my best friend and I have managed to get to the Tidal Basin and walk around it when the cherry blossoms are blooming. Sunrise, sunset, any time of day, it is quite the sight.

It’s beautiful, though, and certainly worth seeing. Instead of going to Jefferson, though, try going to the Roosevelt Memorial on the other side of the Tidal Basin; it’s not quite as heavily trafficked. over 6 years agoPretty by yakuzaThe Tidal Basin is line with Cherry trees, and during the Cherry Blossom Festival, it is quite a sight! The water looks pretty dirty, and the tides govern the depth of the water (hence the name). You can also rent paddleboats to paddle around in. From the DC side, you can see the Jefferson Memorial too! over 6 years ago |
