Very Unique... by northern_gal
I actually lived here for a number of years… the scenery surrounding the town itself is gorgeous, many lakes and rivers, an outdoorsman (or woman)’s paradise.

Carved out of the walls of the mine, the town is visually interesting under some conditions, but not worth the effort. If you’re already there, spend a few mintues. If you’re not, go to the petroglyphs instead. On the other hand, we got better photos of “Flinty” than the ones on the post cards! over 6 years agoUntitled by innowenFlin Flon, Manitoba (or Saskatchewan, since it’s a border town!), my home town, often just pegged as a generic hicksville, is really quite beautiful in all four seasons The people are friendly, the scenery is great and … well, okay, the nightlife isn’t exactly pumping, but we’ve got comfortable bars and great camping. Don’t forget the nearby towns of Creighton (less than 5 minutes away), Saskatchewan, or Denare Beach (about 20 minutes), Saskatchewan, with excellent tourist attractions such as sparkling lakes (in the summer), fantastic skidooing (in the winter) and all sorts of fun in between. Not a tourist attraction, but a tourist distraction, people come to Flin Flon to visit family or to go through to another town or for some other obscure reason, but they stay for a multitude of other reasons.
