Winsum

Winsum is a village located nearby Groningen. It’s a peaseful village with lovely people. In Winsum you can shop, do sports and see a lot of nature. When you are in Winsum in the weekends, be sure to visit one of the bars/pubs and drink something with the local people. Winsum got a great nightlife!

Winsum is a typically cute Dutch village a bike ride away from Groningen. I wouldn’t make a special trip here as part of a vacation, but if you live in Groningen it’s a wonderful bike ride through the fields, and plenty of places to grab a beer and a tosty when you get here.

Winsum is one of the most scenic, quaint villages in the Netherlands. I lived here for a year, and it’s not exactly an exciting place to live, but it’s an absolutely wonderful place for a peaceful weekend. It’s also located less than 15 miles from Groningen, wich is a wonderful city with a great nightlife and cultural scene.
