Worth visiting!
one of the loveliest
edinburgh castle is lovely, as well as some others like stirling castle. but doune castle is much more worn and beautiful to me. though it is small, i appreciate the rather treacherous winding staircases. and the surrounding woods and water are wonderful for wandering about.
you might want to see if any weddings are scheduled, depending on whether you would like to see one of the halls decorated for a wedding, or if you would prefer to visit on a less crowded day.
