Doune

Last time I was there I got married in Stirling and stayed with my parents who still live in the middle of Doune!! Great village, friendly people and next door is Deanston distillery!!

Not only home to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but it is one of the better preserved castles in Scotland!

Why Doune? Well, for one thing, it’s in Scotland, and Scotland is a country I want to visit someday. But for a geek like me, its most important feature is that it’s home to Doune Castle, which was featured prominently in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It, like most of the actors in that movie, played multiple roles—most shots that featured a castle were shot in or around Doune Castle.
