Tonopah

Watch your speed while driving through. The place is known for speed traps and putting you in jail when caught just to get the bail money from you. Besides that, it’s a quaint town.

I think the big scary clown motel may have shut down as many of the businesses there have since the mines are all closing. Tonopah is considered the half way mark when making the Vegas to Reno drive, and everyone stops in Tonopah for fuel. I stayed there a few days once, because I could, and discovered for an itty bitty town, they had a great museum. Not huge, but filled to the brink with interesting tidbits of western American history.
