Ávila aka: Avila

...I was casually driving along the Spain’s wonderful roadways and was very much in the mood to see a walled, medieval city. As fate would have it I stumbled upon Avila and got exactly what I was asking for. The town is amazing, not only because it’s walls represent the best preserved examples of medieval defenses, but it’s set along a beautiful river in a beautiful region of Spain.

I did not spend enough time there. I hope to go back…

The city is too beautiful… the walls, te small streets… everything is lovely in this city…
I wish you like it if you’re going to go.

Great medival citiy with stone wall and watchtowers and cathedral.

Great old city within the walls. Easy to get to by train and a good place to stop off between Madrid and Salamanca.

The Cathedral was really worth seeing if you like architecture.
