I had at one time toyed with the idea of visiting a friend who was living temporarily in Visalia. I trip to Kings Canyon would have been a natural outcome of that visit.

My friend’s temporary stay in Visalia is now over. I will most likely not be going here anytime in the foreseeable future.

Wow! Nice Trip. by dhodges

It was an experience like nothing I’ve had going to the mountains. I drove out about 25 miles to a camp ground called cold springs which was really just a few open sites near a river. I went up at night so we pitched our tent and slept. When we woke up it was snowing and there were four or five deer grazing by the tent and the views were breathtaking! A must visit opportunity :).

Remote by hippie1427

You won’t find much traffic here, or too many people. The drive is long and lazy, winding its way up through the canyon. somewhere along the way is an old, still functional, gravity pump, and a few waterfalls. Even if all you have time to do is drive out, and then back, still do it. It’s great.

Overlooked by beautiful by James

It’s Yosemite’s often neglected sister. Beautiful and very few people. Take advantage of it!
