Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 week ago

Worth visiting!

Prescott, AZ is an amazing town. It was originally supposed to be the capitol of Arizona, but got snubbed for Phoenix, which was rich with farmland in the early 1900s. The old courthouse in Prescott has been used in a number of films, most notably in the Back to the Future series as the very clock that is used to “jump-start” the time-traveling Delorian. The town, itself, has something for everyone. From Southwestern kitsch to modern art galleries, homemade candies to gourmet restaurants, antiquing to bar crawling, and so much more! It’s a place to get out and do some power-shopping or just find a shady spot on the courthouse lawn to sit and people-watch. It’s a place for families, friends, and fun. It’s beautiful scenery and friendly people. It’s what everybody’s hometown should be!

Just beautiful! My fiance says Prescott is the perfect place and would move there in a heartbeat. The weather is always nice, the forests are just stunning, and the community is warm and friendly.

Not worth it!

It is cooler and it is absolutely beautiful! Where I stayed was exactly like a movie or a dream! A baeutiful white cabin with an apple tree and a meadow outback. Wild horses lived at the neighbors but they had been tamed. They had a little farm. It was the most beautiful place ever.

Nice short-ish drive from the hellhole that is Phoenix in the summertime (or year-round…). There’s about a ten degree temperature drop as you get up in elevation. We wandered around town for a bit with our dogs (downtown is just a few blocks around the main courthouse square), had some tasty Mexican food at Hugo’s, and then went out to Lynx Lake for a short hike. Definitely a great daytrip/camping option.

Loved it. It was so much cooler than the Valley, not too long of a drive, and gorgeous. I would love to return.

Worth visiting!

Was here this last weekend for Fri/Sat. My husband was there most of the week doing a video shoot for West Side Story.

We have several friends that live in this area and it was nice to see Fall colors. My Prescott sure has grown. The Women’s Annual Retreat has been up for for the past few years, too.

It’s a quaint little town, but traffic congestion is a problem these days. It used to be real affordable to live in this area, but it’s grown so much and housing prices are much higher these days.

It was nice to get away from the city.

Lived there, a long time ago. Does Thumb Butte ring any bells?

Prescott is in the hills, so it has nice trees and beautiful rugged lanscape. Sure it is dry and hot in the summer, but there are long stretches of mellow weather on either side. The winter gets snow, which is nice for Christmas.
