I agree with Jake. What is more, the house now has furniture fitting the period of its building.
It’s sad that the first world war ended its use as a family house after only quite a short time.

Set just above Lake Windermere, this house is fantastic. It was restored a few years ago and still retains most of the original features – stained glass windows, delft tiles, wood panelling. Visitors are encouraged to sit on the window seats and soak up the atmosphere.

The cafe is also very good – proper coffee and homemade cakes.

One of my favourite places.
