Astoria rules, i’ve lived here for about 5 yrs now and I wouldnt want to live anywhere else. The neighborhood is clean and quiet, the people are really cool, the food is awesome (except for the chinese food, for some reason it sucks), and it is conveinent to the city. Its a great place to live and an interesting place to visit. Theres some cool nightlife, not as dynamic as manhattan, but not as damn expensive either. Definently worth visiting. over 6 years agoNice place, though my encounters have always seemed brief! by NedRaggettBut my relative lack of experience in the area is made up for by the fact that I’ve always enjoyed being here with friends that know the spot well, whether it’s to explore a restaurant or get a drink or the like. (Also my friends M. and J. live nearby but I can never remember if they actually live IN Astoria as such. And I’ve crashed with them before too!) over 6 years agoLived here for just over a year... by pcow5I live here. The only thing of note to see or visit is the Bohemian beer garden. However, the town has grown on me. It is quiet and convenient to Manhattan at a cheaper price. The bars are decent for a chill night out. But not really a place to visit. The food is subpar IMO.
