Idar-Oberstein

i visit here about once every two or three months. it’s only about an hour from my home and it’s beautiful. there’s an old church built into the side of the mountain and they have a festival (gem fest) every weekend. the most beautiful sculptures and jewelry i’ve ever seen are sold here. the food is delicious and the prices are fair. the locals are warm and welcoming and the area is breathtaking. so much history your spine will tingle!

a strange reason perhaps but i was conceived here so i would like to visit. it’s too bad that everyone who speaks german in my immediate family is dead. it will make visiting a bit harder to do. one day.
