Aiken County Historical Museum

According to a magazine article in Southern Living, this historical museum itself has an interesting history. It is supposed to be haunted by the ghost of its original owner, one Richard Howe. He wanted to move to Aiken in the 1930’s, but he was already over 60 years old and superstitious about building a brand new home, so he moved an older house to the location and added onto it. His plan failed, because soon after moving in he suffered a fatal fall.
